Just to set the record straight,

geldyh is NOT me, and is in NO WAY associated with either me, Aikea, or Club Crimsyn.

While I will say that I've had this username (first on LiveJournal) since 2005 and find it incredibly odd that someone would be involved in Sims 3 CC and be completely unaware of me, or at least Club Crimsyn, I have no desire to start a pissing contest with some random person over the internet.

This post is just to inform all you about this, to hopefully lessen the confusion this has apparently caused. Aikea and I are still creating things together (I just got home today from eating her food and drinking her wine, actually), I've just been incredibly distracted by the beast known as Real Life™.

It just seems even more dodgy when this person actually credits Club Crimsyn for some of their skintone stuff. So clearly they can't say they were unaware of you.

I totally agree with you on not wanting to get into a pissing contest with this person. Not worth it. I would be very interested to see why they picked that name in the first place, though - if they happened to mention anywhere that they were a Tolkien fan it would make a little more sense.

Took a minute of looking at both names to figure out all they did was switch 2 letters.

I'd say it's deliberate, that they're trying to draw on the following you two have built up by using a name nearly exactly like yours.

I'm 99.9% sure it's deliberate, since apparently it's not the first time they've pulled shit like this within the sims community. It just doesn't seem like there's really anything I can do about it, actively, anyway.

They claim in one of their blog entries, that they'd had the name for 'years' on IMVU (whatever the hell that is), and didn't even know about you until the came to DW.

Yeah, they're using the same name as me; the only reason their DW account has switched around letters is because it was already taken. For obvious reasons.

Yeah I noticed them when they first started uploading things (though quite clear by the look of the stuff that they aren't you). Probably doesn't help that people seem to mix up the tiny difference in name and refer to them with yours.

Apart from the DW account name, there isn't a difference. Because it was their IMVU name or some bullshit like that. Sorry, but it's not a username someone comes up with at random and is likely to be duplicated. Hell, I've NEVER come across another gelydh ANYWHERE.

Odd how they claim to have learnt how to create on GoS (you know the forum where you're most visible) and yet there is no account in that name registered to the forum. Weird since they claim they have always used your username.

And yes the dw addy reverses two letters but then everything else on the site uses your username. It comes across to me as malicious. If they must use Gelydh as part of their name their are many was to make it obvious that they are not you they have not done that.

I know, strange, right? And they make TS3 content and have somehow never come across Club Crimsyn before? Sure, Aikea posts more than I do, but you can't download from here and not be aware of my involvement, at least on SOME level.

Also, if you do a search for 'gelydh' on Bing, or Google, or whatever, everything that it comes up with is MINE, apart from the LotR references. It's so infuriating.

Since I wrote my first comment I talked to you know who (not Voldemort)and I heard the story about who it actually is. So yes I call utter shenanigans on them using that name before they saw you.

I'm not entirely sure what their major malfunction is but hopefully the creepy moron will get bored soon.

Eh, they never have commented here, and I highly doubt they will. If it does come to that, it's something we'll probably end up doing, but at the moment I'd love to hear the reasoning behind their name choice.

Hi I've been a big fan of you guys since I found this wonderful world of custom content for sims. And I was confused as well when I saw him on the "my sims 3 blog", I thought, "Oh yeah they've came out with new skins", and then I felt bad because I thought you and Akeia decided to part ways...so VERY glad that isn't the case. I just wanted to say, as a huge Tolkien and Sims fan, I've always loved your chosen pseudonym, and I think it's total bullshit someone wants people to believe his suspiciously similar username is just a coincidence. And I don't think said person has any idea where the name comes from, which is even more offensive to me as a Tolkien fan.

You were--honestly--the first Sims 2 CC-artists I've ever downloaded from. Anyone who has CC for Sims 2 & 3 should know who you are, or it's their loss.

It's pathetic that they've clearly tried to impersonate a well-known creator. If you want to get known around the community, work hard on your own creations and stop impersonating other, more talented creators.

I actually posted a (very polite!) comment on their blog about the similarity between your name and theirs, and not only did they delete my comment, they posted a pretty nasty entry about the whole thing.

Hopefully they'll lose interest and move along. Very irritating and disgusting.

This entry is specifically about TS3, but it would also apply to TS2 if you come across something similar. (The only time

gelydh and I have uploaded TS2 things separatly has been when we were on TSR.)

In fact, the same person completely ripped off another well known TS2 creator a while back, going so far as to steal the entire site.
